It's certain that you will see why we named this new duvet set after the fascinating sand dollar that, to most, is a rare find found along the seashore.  But even more lovely is a sacred legend about these creatures that are washed up onto the sand and then bleached by the sun and end by resembling a coin, hence the Moniker.  The legend is as follows:

On the top of the shell is a symbol that looks like a star, a reminder of the Star of Bethlehem that led wise men to the Christ Child. Around the star is an outline of an Easter lily, a reminder of the Lord’s resurrection.

There are five holes in a sand dollar – four around the ends of the star and one in the center. According to the religious legend, the four holes represent the four wounds of Christ when his hands and feet were nailed to the cross. The center hole represents the wound made from a soldier’s spear.

When you turn over the sand dollar, you see the outline of a poinsettia, the Christmas flower. And if you break open a sand dollar, five dove-shaped pieces emerge. Doves are often used in art and literature as a symbol of peace and goodwill.

Our duvets are purposefully oversized. Each set includes one duvet cover and two pillowcases. The large set fits lusciously over a full, generously over a queen, and conventionally over a king size bed. (Requires a king insert.) The twin set will fit a twin bed or an XL twin bed. (Requires a twin insert.)  For an ideal fit, we recommend pairing with our bedding inserts.

Due to the sometimes-rebellious nature of dyes, color and slight variations in patterns may be expected. We work hard to be consistent to deliver the product as pictured. Oh, and we do have to say that our duvets are so much more beautiful and soft, so to merely attempt to capture that in a snapshot is impossible. But don’t take our word for it. Read our reviews!

Care instructions: We suggest machine-washing your duvet set on cold, and all by its lonesome. Hand-dyed pillowcases should be washed alone, also on cold, for the first washing. All bedding may be tumble-dried. Lightly press linens or leave alone for a wrinkled, easy, vintage look.
